Why I could not stop laughing this Christmas!

So Meredith showed me three hilarious/adorable videos last week, that I have not been able to stop watching!

Here they are.

1. David after the dentist

2. Charlie bit me!

3. I like you when you give me cookies!

Christmas 2009- Part 3

After brunch on Christmas Eve at the Broughams was over we headed to my Moms for her Holiday open house. For a party that only lasted two hours, I suppose only my family (and Moms friends) would end up rolling a rug up to do our best "C Walking". Yes it is gang related. No, I am not currently affiliated with this gang but... I will cut you bitch!!!! That one is for you Mike and the Italy crew.

The party was a ton of fun and after we wrapped up our "dance-off" we headed downtown for a lovely dinner at Bistro Vendome. It was a great Christmas Eve filled with lots of cocktails and lots and lots of laughs. I am so blessed to have such a HILARIOUS family :).

In the morning Pat and I headed back to my Moms for breakfast and gifts and then off to our Christmas movie. This year we agreed on "Up In The Air", which was not as good as I thought it was going to be :(.

We finished up our Christmas at Pats Aunts house for a great dinner with Pats extended family.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and here is to a GREAT 2010!!

Christmas 2009- Part 2

After we left the condo we headed over to Joe and Mica's house for Christmas Eve Brunch. It was really fun getting to spend so much time with our ADORABLE niece, Cecilia.

Boy, Pat was sure good with her :) hehe

Christmas 2009- Part 1

We had a wonderful holiday this year and it felt like we celebrated for about two full weeks! We started our holidays with my father, sister and her boyfriend, Adam, up at Pats families condo in the mountains.

Pat and I did a little beautiful drive on Dam Road and got out to take a couple of pics. On the way back we captured a couple Moose right above the condo.

It was great to start off the holiday week in a relaxing setting by a fireplace watching falling snow! We opened gifts, had great meals, attempted to play boardgames and had lots of laughs.

During the day the group would hit the slopes while I hung back and worked or just relaxed at the condo.

Gracie Turns 1

It seems like it was just yesterday when Sara went into labor coming to my holiday party. So in her pre-pregnancy jeans, perfect hair and makeup and high heels she checked in to have Grace :). Well here we are one year later and boy it just shows how fast time flies by!

Gracie was definitely the "Belle of Ball" at her lovely birthday party. Outfitted in a baby tiara and pink tu tu, it was pretty obvious who the birthday girl was.

Even Elmo made an appearance at the party! All the little ones (except Benjamin :)) loved Elmo. Here he is with Cozette, Barb's little one.

Graces first introduction to sugar went VERY well!

Happy Birthday Gracie!

A lovely ladies tea party

For the fourth year I hosted my annual "Ladies Holiday Tea Party" last Sunday.

I served the same menu as every year, with an addition of some adorable macaroons!

It is always so nice to sit down with such great friends and recap all of the fun stories and memories from the past year. I even put together a slide show each year with all of the fun photos taken of all of us.

There were some great additions to our tea party this year(new girlfriends), some adorable additions to our slide show (new babies) and some very fun and exciting things for the new year planned!

The day I got to tell my Mom "I told you so"!

Since my trip to Paris last year I have had a slight obsession with macaroons, especially Laduree macaroons. If you are unfamiliar with the story behind the macaroon or what Laduree is, I strongly urge to check out their website, it just makes you smile :)

www.laduree.com

It was my plan this year to prepare them for my friends at my holiday tea party that I host each year. I knew going into this that it may be a bit difficult as I have been told by various people they are very difficult to prepare. So being that I consider my mother a baking guru, I asked her to assist me.

We went back and forth over the recipe and finally agreed on my original Laduree inspired recipe. Even after arriving and beginning to cook my Mom was still saying I should not have high hopes for these. I kept assuring her that they would be perfect and to be optimistic. Well 3.5 hours later, voila! The macaroons came out perfectly and I got to send her home with some adorable treats that I knew from the start would turn out just lovely. I told you so, Mom!

I think we started a new Christmas macaroon tradition!

Getting ready for the holidays- French style!

One of our lovely and thoughtful wedding gifts, was from my girlfriend Anna. She bought Pat and I cooking lessons at Le Central, a French restaurant here in Denver.

We attended the November class and got to learn how to prepare some traditional French holiday cuisine.

While we sipped wine, we walked around the restaurant and watched a live cooking demo for an appetizer, main course and my favorite, dessert!

We had a lovely evening and although I do love almost everything French, I definitely say I prefer our American holiday food, instead :).

My BIG 30!

I had a blast celebrating the last week of my twenties for my big 30 on the 17th. We started celebrating with a small get together the weekend before my birthday but had the big party planned the weekend after. For the second year in a row, Kerri and I merged our parties since we are only a few days apart.

We celebrated at a really cool place in Cherry Creek North called Canvas and Cocktails, where you get a painting class and get to drink at the same time, DIVINE!!

After painting we went to Cucina Colore, a great Italian place near Canvas and Cocktails. Having 15 ladies at one table is always a good time!

Then as if I had not celebrated enough, it was time to celebrate with my mom, whose birthday is a week a part from mine. My mother and I decided to celebrate with a lovely dinner at The Flagstaff House in Boulder. Both Pat and my cousin Kerry were able to join us, which made the night really fun. What a great birthday week!

What a WICKED fun Wednesday!!

For my birthday this year all I wanted was to go to Wicked when it was in Denver. Unfortunately it sold out almost immediately and ticket prices went through the roof. Well last night we gave it a shot and went down to the theater 2.5 hours before the show to participate in the raffle that they do each show for sold out performances. The odds are always pretty low because so many people show up to try and get the 20 tickets they raffle off for dirt cheap prices. Well...... last night we WON, wooo hooooo!!!! I was so excited. I actually got what I wanted for my birthday :). I absolutely loved it too.

Who Done It? Clue Style

This year for Halloween we were the characters from Clue. I have wanted to do this costume for a very long time but this was the first year it actually worked out!

Meet the cast...

Mrs. White and Colonel Mustard

Ms. Scarlett and Mr. Green

Mrs. Peacock and Professor Plum

Yvette, the french maid and Wadsworth, the butler

We even had the signing telegram girl too!

Our costume was for the party we go to every year, The Victorian Ball. We had an awesome time again this year as we were joined by lots of our friends!

Pat turns 30!

Pat turned 30 on October 20th. I put together a little joint bday party for Pat and Jeremy, their birthdays are only four days apart.

We had a yummy dinner at a cool retro steakhouse in Denver called Bastiens. After dinner we headed out to Rockbar for a little dancing.

Happy Birthday!!!

When in Rome, do as the Danahy O'Hanlons do...

After our wonderfully relaxing week in the Greek Islands, it was time for a new adventure, Italy. Our Italian adventure had actually been planned for over a year as a family trip to celebrate my mothers 60th birthday. The best part about our "family vacation" is that we have a HUGE family! So we had the joy of being able to experience Italy with twenty of my family members.

When Pat and I arrived in Rome we grabbed our rental car and decided to do a quick tour (ha ha) of the Rome sites. Luckily the day we arrived in Rome was an Italian holiday so there was plenty of parking around the Coliseum. All of the historic sites were also free to the public that day too, yipee. Check out our quick to Roma!!

After a bit of a stressful drive out of Rome (hitting Rome traffic = TERRIBLE), we were on our way to the Tuscan region of Italy. Driving in Italy was a bit like driving in a video game, it is as if there is no such thing as a speed limit (Pat = HAPPY). It was so wonderful to have an IPhone driving in Italy as its GPS got us everywhere with ease.

When we pulled up to our Tuscan castle both Pat and I knew this was going to be such a neat experience. As we climbed the Cyprus tree drive up the hill to the castle, we could not wait for our Italian adventure to officially begin. My mother did such an amazing job of locating the perfect place for us in the Tuscan countryside. Villa Maiano in Monte San Savino was the most unbelievably beautiful castle I have ever seen (and definitely ever stayed in). Enjoy some photos of Maiano and Monte San Savino.

The first couple of days in Tuscany were filled with relaxing at the pool, walks around the villa, day trips to the small towns around Monte San Savino, big dinners with endless toasts and stories and lots and lots of vino! Enjoy some photos of the other Tuscan towns.

Cortona- Where the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" was filmed.

Moltepulciano- This Tuscan village is known for its wonderful, regional wine tastings. Although it became very interesting for me for a different reason. I became OBSESSED with the Twilight saga on this trip and literally read two of the books, New Moon and Eclipse in a week. Well for those of you Twilight lovers, in the book New Moon, when Bella goes to Volterra to save Edward from the Volterri, she runs around Volterra looking for Edward. Well Volterra is a town in Italy, but they actually filmed this part of the movie in Moltepulciano!! So for all of you counting down the days until New Moon on Nov 20th, you may just recognize these places.

Siena- This is a wonderful city in Tuscany! It is booming with Italian culture, history, shopping and dining. We took a day trip to Siena with Meredith and Adam. They went to search for a Synagogue because it was Yom Kippur and Pat and I went into the Centro to explore. We were about a month late for the famous horse races, but the Il Campo was still perfect for people watching. We sat in the Il Campo and enjoyed some amazing pizza, while reading the history of the town. After lunch we wandered through the beautiful streets, filled with expensive boutiques and designers, wonderful restaurants and decadent gelatto shops to find the Duomo. We met up with Mere and Adam here and then headed back to the villa.

Lago Castello- We ventured just outside of the Tuscan region into Umbria one afternoon to visit a beautiful lake and state park. The guys enjoyed a rock skipping contest at the lake before we headed for the castle on the other side. We explored the Centro of Lago Castello popping into shops and doing wine and cheese tastings. We settled on a nice little restaurant for lunch and had wonderful wine and a lot of food while sharing funny stories about the terrible teenage years. After lunch we found a fountain and did a quick euro toss for luck!

We decided to take a day trip to Florence with Meredith and Adam a couple days later. Florence (Firenze)is such a beautiful place. We began of Florence day figuring out the bus line, which surprisingly was very easy (logistics were not really our friend on this trip). We started at The Accademia Gallery, home of The David by Michelangelo. Seeing the David was amazing up close. We had the opposite reaction to seeing the David then we did to seeing The Mona Lisa last year in Paris. The David did truly live up to all expectations. There is a reason people wait for hours and hours to see him. After that we headed over to the Uffizi Gallery, to continue our museum filled morning. Between the two museums we were able to take in the amazing Florence Duomo. After the museums we headed over the famous Florence bridge over the river filled with beautiful jewelry vendors. We finished our Florence day with a great lunch and then headed back to the villa.

Pat and I decided to leave to leave the villa a day early and head north to Venice, as both of us really wanted to spend an evening in Venice. So we packed our stuff and said "Arrivederci" to the family and got ready for our two hour drive to Venice. Once we arrived in Venice we parked the car and boarded a water bus to our hotel. We spent the day in Venice strolling the canal streets and sightseeing in Piazza San Marco. After a nice candlelight dinner on the canal we headed back to our hotel to turn in for the night.

Our last day in Italy was spent in Pisa and Lucca. Pisa really does not have much to offer outside of the centro that holds the famous leaning tower of Pisa. This was something we really enjoyed and along with the hundreds of other people we played with making some fun pictures.

After seeing the tower we headed for Lucca, which was recommended by several friends. Lucca was really neat because it seemed like it was really popular by Italians and a place where they come to get away. The centro was completely surrounded, like many other mid-evil towns, by a wall around the town. The cool thing about Lucca's wall is that you can walk on the top of it around the town. Lucca is some ways actually reminded me of Colorado, the landscape was very similar and in the distance were foothills like you see here. It was a perfect town to see before we headed home, because it gave us a reminder of home!

And after two wonderful weeks in Greece and Italy we headed home!

It's all Greek to us!

Pat and I began our honeymoon in the Greek Islands, visiting Santorini and Mykenos!

We had the most amazing time in Santorini and it truly was one of the beautiful places I have ever seen.

We stayed right on the cliffs in between the capital of Santorini, Fira and its other largest city, Oia.

Our time in Santorini was very relaxing. We had lazy mornings while we enjoyed breakfast on our terrace everyday and then slowly headed out to explore the island. We spent time hiking the cliffs near our hotel and taking our 4-wheeler around to see the entire island.

Santorini is famous for its white and blue cliff side architecture and serene beaches. It is not hard to believe that in the surrounding waters of the island many scientists believe buried deep beneath the ocean is the lost island of Atlantis.

Visiting the Red, Black and White beaches were also awesome! Although the water felt like Colorado lake water, they were sure pretty to look at.

On the opposite end of Santorini from Fira is Oia. Oia is famous for supposedly having the most beautiful sunsets in the whole world. Every night hundreds of people come to the city and oooohhh and ahhhhh as the sun fades away. It was very crowded, but worth it. Although I am not sure how many places claim to have the best sunset in the world, I can say it is the most beautiful one I have ever seen.

Because we were not able to see Athens at all, we were really interested in seeing Ancient Thira. This hilltop on Thira was first inhabited by the Dorians, whose leader was Theras, in the 9th century BC. Thira was later occupied in the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine eras. Most of the buildings that survive today date from the Hellenistic era (around the 4th century BC).

The ancient houses and larger part of the cemeteries of Ancient Thira were excavated by German archaeologists between 1895 and 1902, while the cemeteries on the northeast and northwest slopes of Sellada were excavated in 1961-1982.

We were very excited to also explore the volcano while we were in Santorini. We decided to book a sailboat tour to the volcano on our last full day there. The sailboat took us over the volcano, gave us a guided tour of it, sailed to some natural hot springs to swim in and then sailed around the island to the Oia side for another view of the sunset from the water.

After several wonderful days in Santorini we packed up and headed for the port to catch our speed ferry to Mykenos.

Mykenos architecture was slightly different then Santorini as all building were square instead of round. This island is famous for two things, beaches and partying! While Pat and I tried to experience both while we were there, we just got to tired from being at the beaches all day to head out at 1am when the party begins. I guess we got one out of two I guess. We had wonderfully relaxing days at the beaches, enjoyed tasty gyros and other Greek food while sipping on Mythos beer and pina coladas.

We had a wonderful week in Greece and could not wait to start our next adventure. Off to Italy we go.....

What a wedding!!

Pat and I had the most amazing wedding! I could not be happier with the way it all turned out. It definitely made the months and months of planning worth it. It was so amazing to see what a POP! Art wedding actually looked like. We had so many amazing vendors, especially Kerri, who helped transform our concept into reality for one special day. We were so honored to have all of you there to share this with too!

Enjoy a little slideshow!

Back to reality......

As all of you know due to a wedding, a honeymoon, a potential reality tv show and the beginning of a new division to the agency, I have been SWAMPED!! But..... I'M BACK :)

Our Mini-Moon Business Trip

Last week we were invited to go to Miami to meet with Paul Fischer, Michelle Pommier and Valleri Trott, three of the most famous agents in the country. It was such an incredible and enlightening experience for us and has opened up so many doors for the agency!!

Because this was about as far from a boring business trip as you can get, we were calling it our "mini-moon" since we do not leave for our honeymoon until September 19th. We spent time lounging in our awesome suite, lounging by the pool and meeting so many amazing people from around the world.

I cannot wait for the upcoming year and all of the exciting things that will be happening with The Network.......

Here is a pic of Paul, Pat and I at Club 50 after our meeting!

If you are unfamiliar with Paul Fischer he has been an agent for over 30 years and has discovered many "supermodels" in his time. Names like Naomi Campbell, Stephanie Seymore, Claudia Schiffer, and Linda Evangelista. Just check out the E True Story that featured him.

Here I am with Valleri Trott, the former President of Elite, one of the biggest agencies in the world.

Kings on Leon at Red Rocks

The first weekend of August one of our favorite bands, Kings of Leon, came to Colorado for an awesome concert and Red Rocks. This was a perfect way to relax before all the wedding craziness begun. It was probably the best concert I have ever been to and it was so nice to share the experience with so many of our friends.

We got up to Red Rocks a little early to do some tailgating and enjoy the beautiful weather and views.

Once inside Red Rocks we found our seats, dead center in the ninth row!! We had an amazing view and enjoyed rocking out to our favorite songs. Here are just a couple of their best.
